WHY NONIMI EXISTS

They cannot ask.
We can act.

A meal and a bowl of clean water can make a meaningful difference to an animal’s day.

NONIMI is a university student project bringing people together to support vulnerable dogs and cats. Our approach is simple: understand the need, organise useful donations and work with animal-care partners to deliver support responsibly.

We welcome individuals, local businesses, pet shops and animal-food suppliers who would like to be part of it.

PRACTICAL HELP, GIVEN WITH CARE

Three ways to make a difference.

01 / NOURISH

Fill a bowl.

Contribute suitable animal food and essential feeding supplies, based on needs confirmed with the shelter.

Offer food or supplies ↗
02 / SUSTAIN

Make water accessible.

Support clean drinking water, water containers and practical hygiene supplies for animal-care spaces.

Support water & hygiene ↗
03 / CONNECT

Bring care closer.

Help with transport, sponsorship or introductions to veterinary professionals. Healthcare depends on feasibility and qualified guidance.

Become a project supporter ↗

THOUGHTFUL FROM THE START

Good intentions.
A clear plan.

Planning & partner coordination

Initial contact has been made with the Animal Welfare Protection Association (AWPA). Collaboration, donation items and delivery arrangements are still to be confirmed.

  1. Listen first

Confirm the partner, location and actual food, water and supply needs.

  2. Gather the right support

Agree a realistic budget and coordinate cash or in-kind contributions.

  3. Deliver & document

Organise approved activities and keep receipts, supply records and activity evidence.

  4. Share the outcome

Prepare an update on support received, resources used and animals reached.

TRUST THROUGH TRANSPARENCY

Kindness, accounted for.

Our commitment is to record contributions, document expenses and share project outcomes. Confirmed arrangements will guide how donations are accepted and used.

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY ESTIMATELKR 85,000

Planning estimate only. Final needs, budget and funding arrangements are pending confirmation.

What is included in the original budget?

The pitch separates LKR 85,000 for project activities and LKR 40,000 for proposed website development: LKR 125,000 combined. These are preliminary figures, not an approved fundraising target. Website expenditure should be reviewed against the actual hosting and development arrangement.

THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOUR KINDNESS

Let’s help them,
together.

Offer supplies, explore sponsorship or lend practical help. Start a conversation with the student team to confirm what is needed and how to contribute.

The team’s contact details will be added before donor enquiries open. You can prepare and save your enquiry below.

No payment is collected on this website.

This form prepares a message on your device. It does not send or store your details.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Before you contribute.

Can I donate food instead of money?

Yes, in-kind support is part of the proposed approach. Please confirm food type, quantities and delivery arrangements with the team before purchasing or sending items.

Is this an animal shelter?

NONIMI is a student initiative supporting animal welfare. It is not presented as an operating shelter or a registered charity. Shelter collaboration is being discussed.

Are vaccinations guaranteed?

No. Healthcare support will only be explored where feasible and with qualified veterinary guidance.

How will I know what my contribution supports?

The team plans to maintain contribution and expense records and share a completion report. Confirm the reporting and donation arrangements directly with the team before contributing.
